As a young choral scholar I embarked on a thorough and intensive start to my musical education. I attained two 'Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music' Grade 8 Qualifications, (in Piano and Clarinet), before continuing my studies, (with Guitar as my principal instrument), under Eric Roche and Bernard Purdie at the Musician's Institute, London - (sister school to the world renowned Musician's Institute, Hollywood). In 1996 I graduated G.I.T. with a Gold Level diploma.
In '99 I began a Bachelor of Music degree, under Dr Simon Waters, Dr Jonathan Impett & Dr Sharon Choa, at the University of East Anglia, where I studied Composition, Electro-Acoustic Composition, Orchestration, Performance and Conducting, and volunteered as an assistant sound engineer at a residential music recording studio.
Following graduation with honors in 2002, I took a Music Performance & Sound Engineering lecturer's post with the Royal National Institute for the Blind; teaching and advising on the installation of a specialist radio and sound recording facility - a post I held for 2 1/2 years prior to specialising in Sound Engineering, initially as a staff sound engineer for Advitel.
In 2006 I toured as a keyboard technician to Mark Kelly with rock band Marillion, before making the move to central London, where as a staff sound engineer, at The Sound Company Ltd., I now work on a diverse range of projects, including:
long-form documentary narration - 'as live' round table radio discussion programmes - recording, editing and mixing corporate videos & podcasts - recording dialogue for a number of animation series (including the BAFTA winning Peppa Pig and British Animation Award winning Ben & Holly's Little Kingdom) - ADR for TV dramas (such as Pan Am, Orphan Black & Manhattan) and Hollywood blockbusters (such as Sherlock Holmes) - recording, editing, sound designing and mixing TV & Radio Ads for high profile national campaigns - and full and additional dialogue recording for several major animated feature films (such as Gnomeo & Juliet, Arthur Christmas, How to Train Your Dragon, Rise of the Guardians & Boxtrolls)
In 2013 I studied Film Music Composition under the tutelage of Mariano Nunez-West at Goldsmiths University of London.
